‘To know the road ahead, ask those coming back’ – Chinese Proverb
Get the benefit of lessons learned from hundreds of other startups.
While every startup and entrepreneur is different, there are some common themes. In this talk, we will take you through mistakes that we see time and time again, including:
- Team, values, vesting
- intellectual property
- Cash and funding
- Capital, valuations, investment terms
- advisors and mentors
- Structures, tax, business systems
The aim is to be thought provoking, not just a list of things to avoid. The topics range from basics to more subtle and sometimes controversial issues, like how to get the best from mentors and advisors. Even experienced entrepreneurs should find this talk and discussion challenging and provoke new discussions that will improve your innovative business.
The talk is based on Dr Craig Davis‘s experience as an entrepreneur, angel investor, founder of GRIFFIN Accelerator and General Manager of the Growth Programs at CBRIN.
There will be time for questions, we’ll be happy to explore wider or dig deeper according to your interests.
