Social Enterprise

Social enterprises are businesses that trade to intentionally tackle social problems, improve communities, provide people access to employment and skills development, or help the environment.

Social entrepreneurs apply techniques from conventional businesses, but with a different impetus. They are motivated by solving social problems rather than accumulating private wealth. They may use either not-for-profit or for-profit company forms.
