Zoe Piper, founder of Ethitrade has won the Canberra Innovation Network’s Innovation Showcase 2020 and $1,000 cash!
Consumers are increasingly demanding more information and seeking assurances that the goods they purchase are safe and ethically produced. Partnering with The Asia Foundation and DFAT, Ethitrade have developed a blockchain-based provenance platform, providing consumers with visibility of the journey goods took through the supply chain.
Our Judging panel made up of Professor Brian Schmidt, Nobel laureate for his discovery of dark energy and Vice-Chancellor of the ANU; Group Editor of Region Media Genevieve Jacobs; John De Margheriti, CEO and Chairman of the Academy of Interactive Entertainment; and Cindy Mitchell, ACT Woman of the Year, and founder and CEO of the Mill House Ventures, had only 4 minutes to deliberate the winner after hearing 10 incredible pitches.
The pitchers each had 90 seconds to present their business on stage, followed by 2 and a half minutes of questions from our 4 judges, facilitated by the wonderful host Cam Sullings.
Audiences watching at home voted for their favourite pitch also, and Andy Miller founder of Heaps Normal, a non-alcoholic beer walked away with the People’s Choice award of $500.
A huge thank you and congratulations to the incredible companies that braved the Innovation Showcase 2020, you all did a fantastic job.
