Ever wondered what it’s like to cowork at the Canberra Innovation Network?

CBRIN coworking

Have your cake and startup too!

When you think of a coworking space, there’s a certain look and reputation most people have in mind, think kombucha on tap, plant walls and trendy people hacking away on laptops. Believe us when we say, the Canberra Innovation Network is different. We still have all of those funky perks when it comes to community events, flexible workspaces and snacks but with an added essence of creativity, connection and clever thinking people ready to collaborate and help each other.

Community manager Candace Rhind has been working with the Canberra Innovation Network since the very first time we went into lockdown in Canberra. As the community manager and EA to the CEO, Candace knows the Canberra Innovation Network like the back of her hand and plays a major role as the heart of our coworking community.

Candace says coworking is like a pie and the space is only a slice of it.

“ the space and amenities at CBRIN are just the crust:  sit-to-stand desks, super-fast wifi, bookable meeting rooms (and yes, beanbags, couches, and a ping-pong table), but the best part is the middle, the pie filling is the people, the support, networking, events and programs we have to offer”

At the Canberra Innovation Network you can escape your distractions like kids or undone washing and join a community of likeminded people that understand the rollercoaster that is being a startup. You can meet clients, take interviews and calls in our private meeting rooms and break out spaces. All while sipping on a free coffee or enjoying morning tea with the CBRIN community.

The CBRIN team are passionate about empowering entrepreneurs, startups, and SMEs through a range of growth programs, events, and initiatives, says Candace.

“Want to know how to set up your business structure, grow your team, or secure funding?  Sweet, we’ll book in a learning session over lunch.  Want to make some solid connections with other amazing people in the space?  Wicked – come along to morning tea or Friday drinks.”

The Canberra Innovation Network runs regular events, programs and workshops. Including,

  • First Wednesday Connect, a monthly networking event featuring 60-second pitches from innovators in the community,
  • Female Founders, a panel-style event that offers women in innovation the tools they need to explore and grow their businesses and ideas.
  • Coworking open days, held various times over the year to encourage new people to experience the space and community.
  • The Innovation Showcase, an annual extravaganza celebrating the innovation community.

According to Candace, it doesn’t matter where you are in your innovation journey or what you’re working on, you’re always welcome at CBRIN.

“The best thing about the Canberra Innovation Network is that there is always something going on, so you always have a chance to come along, meet the team and check it all out”
