Meet the Team: Shash

We’re highlighting our business’ strongest asset: our wonderful team!

Here at the Canberra Innovation Network, we’re passionate about innovation and are here to help you make an impact and change the world. Our team is full of clever, connected, and creative people and we’re excited to introduce you to our new Innovation Program Officer, Shashank Bokil.

Explain what you do at CBRIN in 25 words or less.

I work under the Growth team and will eventually build a focus on the SME and Coworking engagements going forward.

Tell us about what you are working on at the moment.

I’m mostly working on building relationships and conversations with SMEs and coworkers, with a bit of a focus on getting people excited for SME Breakfast, but mainly just supporting the Growth team and learning whatever I can.

Who or what inspires you?

My biggest inspiration since as long as I can remember has to be Shah Rukh Khan – he’s a massive Indian movie star and everything about him from his drive to his sense of humour and wit has been an inspiration throughout my life.

What’s your favourite book or podcast?

I don’t really listen to podcasts or read much outside of comics – but on that note probably the Civil War Marvel comics run would be my favourite off the top of my head.

What are you most passionate about?

Video games and Streaming

If you could dis-invent one thing, what would it be and why?

Deconstructed cocktails (or most deconstructed food/drink items) – I just don’t understand the appeal!

What’s your drink of choice?

Seltzers, Vodka-Cokes or any Chilli cocktails (depends on the vibe)

What do you work towards in your free time?

My stream – whether it’s actually streaming or developing assets like emotes, backgrounds, audio, choosing games, editing clips, etc.

What’s the coolest innovation you’ve read or heard about lately?

Probably the development of VR/AR technologies – stuff like the new Rayban Meta glasses or the Apple Vision. It’s something that feels futuristic and, while a little dystopian, feels pretty cool to see and keen to see where it goes from here in the future.

What is something that never fails to make you smile?

Spongebob Squarepants

What are you currently watching on Netflix?

Castlevania: Nocturne

Tell us something interesting about yourself that we may not know?

I’ve played in a PGA Youth Golf tournament and came third – losing first and second place to two twins!

If you were a crayon, what colour would you be?

Maroon
