Each Wednesday we interview women in our community about innovation and what drives them to make a difference in their industries everyday!
What are you working on?
Every day I am working on something different – and this is one, of many reasons I love what I do!
Dream Admin Services was established in February 2018. During this short period of time we have grown exponentially – smashing our original business goals. I am extremely proud of our uniquely versatile suite of business solutions tailored to support other businesses. Our services include but are not limited to: bookkeeping, administration, personal assistance, staff outsourcing, social media management and digital marketing. We pride ourselves in our commitment to providing high quality business services that are delivered with a sense of warmth, personalisation and complete transparency. We adopt a sensible, rational approach to support business owners in streamlining processes and operations, while offering modern technology solutions to save time and money.
There are some exciting new projects in the pipeline for 2019 – so watch this space!
Why is innovation important to you?
To me, innovation drives growth and change. I enjoy seeing real and positive changes in how businesses are run, whether this is through professional support, streamlining of processes or the introduction of new technology. All of which come back to innovation.
I encourage discussion, collaboration and teamwork. Nothing is more powerful than fostering ideas as a team.
It’s important that we remain flexible and open minded when it comes to embracing change and utilising technology. Especially when it comes to saving time and money. I am consistently asking my team for their ideas and opinions and together we brainstorm solutions for both our clients and for us as a business.
What drives you to make a difference?
I love waking up and knowing that I am going to positively contribute to the success of another business, whether it be through streamlining process or by getting their bookwork in order. You could say that doing the ‘nitty gritty’ is in my blood! I have a diverse commercial background with over fifteen years’ experience working in various roles within the administration and finance sectors.
I have recruited well and have found a team of dedicated, professional woman who embrace my vision for Dream Admin Services. We have had a phenomenal year since starting Dream and the feedback I get from our clients helps motivate me to continue to grow the business and adapt to our ever-changing environment – particularly with technology and social media. There is so much we can do that can have a positive impact for other businesses and that is one of many things that drives me to make a difference! I love that the ‘Dream Team’ is a group of women helping not only a range of small business in our own community but that we are able to support businesses both domestically and internationally. The opportunities a virtual business gives you is endless and that is exciting.
Do you have any advice for getting more women into the innovation ecosystem?
- Believe in your ideas. Be relentless. Test them and then test them again.
- Surround yourself with like-minded professionals. Attend networking events and be a sponge. Listen and take in as much information as you can. Then use that information to grow, both personally and professionally.
- Work closely with a business coach. Be open and honest with what you want to achieve and break down any barriers that might be inhibiting your success.
- Trust your gut – especially when it comes to employing people! Make sure you do your homework. Recruit well and make sure you employee the right people who will help strengthen, grow and lead your business into the future.
