Canberra-based startup OX Rooms, co-founded by tech entrepreneur Emmy Arthurson and three-time REIACT Solicitor of the Year Award winner Matthew Carmody, has secured a place in the Canberra Innovation Network’s GRIFFIN Accelerator program. OX Rooms delivers unprecedented transparency for buying and selling real estate to agents, lawyers, buyers and sellers setting the stage for industry-wide transformation.

OX Rooms offers a simple and impactful solution that cuts the noise —by giving everyone real-time visibility and control. “We are all working toward the same goal, but each party has different tools and different access to key information. OX Rooms changes that by bringing everyone together on one secure, easy-to-use platform.” said Arthurson.

The real estate industry does not have a tool for secure collaboration across user groups, so professionals rely on email, calls, texts and Whatsapp groups. “It’s not that people are resistant to change; there was nothing to change to — until now,” said Carmody. “Cross-enterprise software isn’t new, it’s been embraced across professional services, technology and healthcare sectors but property transactions have some unique requirements and that called for a tailor-made solution. OX Rooms bridges that gap. Our platform levels the playing field, connecting everyone, no matter their current systems or technology and putting the clients and the task at the heart of the transaction.”

Arthurson highlights the need for modern, client-focused solutions: “You can track a $30 pizza order to the minute, but for a million-dollar property transaction, you’re left sorting through inboxes, waiting for updates, or playing phone tag. OX Rooms keeps everyone aligned and engaged, making the process faster, easier, and more secure.”

OX Rooms tackles the persistent threat of cybersecurity attacks in property transactions. Buyers and sellers are losing money to fraudsters impersonating their agents and lawyers, OX Rooms delivers a secure, encrypted environment for all communications and document exchanges. “Emails just aren’t safe enough for these high-value transactions,” said Arthurson. “OX Rooms protects sensitive data, keeping every transaction secure.”

Lawyers minimise lost time on repetitive tasks and streamline communication to focus on the important things. Agents benefit from complete visibility into the progress of contracts in real-time, ensuring smoother sales. Buyers and sellers love being able to check-in on the progress of the sale —just like tracking a pizza—anytime, anywhere. Drastically reducing the stress and uncertainty that comes with property transactions.

With support from the GRIFFIN Accelerator and a growing user base, OX Rooms is driving positive change in the conveyancing industry. “This is just the beginning,” said Carmody. “We’re elevating efficiency, security, and transparency across the board.”

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the GRIFFIN Accelerator has become one of Australia’s leading programs for startup success. “GRIFFIN is a huge opportunity to learn from those with proven experience,” said Arthurson. “Their mentorship is already helping us sharpen our strategy and focus on reshaping the conveyancing experience for everyone involved.”
