CBRIN is a member of the AI Colab Alliance which unites partners from government, non-profit, industry, and academia addressing the challenge of siloed approach to AI and has a mission to ensure that AI is accessible, inclusive and benefits all.
CBRIN facilitated a collab lab for the AI CoLab Alliance to generate 'action clusters' by aligning experts around shared capabilities and areas of focus and interest. The session involved participants from across the quadruple helix (academia, business, government and community) identifying key concerns and opportunities regarding AI, collaboratively refining the provided mission & capability matrix, and then mapping their individual expertise and engagement interests onto the framework.
This structured process generated common themes – including concerns about AI reinforcing systemic barriers, opportunities for transforming public services, and challenges in representing diverse cultural contexts. The mapping also clearly highlighted areas of strong collective interest and specific expertise gaps within the Alliance.
