This program may be right for you if:
- You are a small business owner, startup, or sole trader based in the ACT or nearby.
- You are juggling growth, pressure, or operational challenges and want a clearer way forward.
- You are looking for practical support through digital solutions that help you improve how your business runs, not just learn more in theory.
Session Delivery
Our experts will deliver up to 5 hours of support sessions for each individual business. In each session, our experts will:
- Provide expert input that responds to your business needs and priorities.
- Help you uncover smarter ways to run your business by better using digital tools.
- Share practical strategies to improve efficiency, visibility and growth.
- Help you bring clarity to the areas that feel messy, unclear or hard to prioritise.
- Work with you to identify clear next steps so you can act with confidence.
Cost
The program is completely free for small businesses upon completion, and only includes:
- A $110 deposit secures your one‑on‑one expert sessions and your place in the program. It is fully refunded once you meet the completion requirements.
- All other parts of the program, workshops, webinars and learning resources are also delivered at no cost to you.
This program is for eligible, for‑profit small businesses and sole traders, including startups, with a registered ABN and fewer than 20 employees. It is designed for ACT and surrounding‑region businesses that are looking for practical digital support to improve how they operate and grow.

The Experts
This is a paid, professional opportunity at approximately $85 per hour on a contractor basis. You do not need to cover all five areas – we are seeking individuals with depth in one or more of the below domains:
Digitising small business operations
Help small businesses move everyday tasks online so their operations run more smoothly and efficiently. This can include digitising paperwork, improving basic workflows, and setting up practical systems that save time for owners and teams.
Social media, digital marketing and selling online
Support businesses to build a clear online presence, use social media effectively, and set up simple digital marketing and e-commerce practices. The focus is on practical, realistic tactics that fit small budgets and busy operators
Business software and workflow tools
Work with owners to choose, set up and streamline software for finance, bookings, customer management and team collaboration. You will help reduce double handling and manual processes so tools actually make day-to-day work easier.
AI and emerging technologies
Guide businesses on where AI and newer digital tools can genuinely help with content, admin and customer engagement, without the hype. This includes practical advice, hands-on demonstrations and guardrails for safe, confident adoption.
Cybersecurity and data privacy
Help small businesses protect their devices, accounts and customer information with straightforward cybersecurity and privacy practices. You will focus on practical risk reduction steps that owners and teams can realistically implement and maintain.

This program is funded by the Australian Government through the Department of the Treasury and delivered in collaboration with the Australian School of Entrepreneurship (ASE), bringing practical digital support to small businesses and startups across the ACT and nearby regions. For CBRIN, it’s a natural fit with the rainforest community we’re building in Canberra – a place where generous, collaborative founders and experts back each other to take considered risks, share what works, and create businesses of the future together – which is exactly why we wanted to deliver this program for the region.
