Altina Drinks are creating memorable zero proof experiences that will help you eat better, drink better and live better. Starting this July is the Zero Proof Festival, a series of alcohol-free events with local Canberra businesses and sober champions from around the country.
For the month-long Festival, Altina has partnered with organisations working in alcohol harm reduction to create a sober takeover and help educate ‘the sober curious’ about mindful drinking.
“The Zero Proof Festival is not [our] core business, but we felt strongly that someone or an organisation needed to lead and show the community that interesting and fun alcohol-free experiences can be possible,” said Alan Tse, Co-Founder & Commercial Director of Altina Drinks.
The festival lineup boasts a great variety of events from female leads with extensive experience.
Headlining is Shanna Whan, the Founder & CEO of Sober in the Country (SITC), who will deep dive into her journey and experiences in alcoholism right through to her incredible work in advocacy and social impact.
Take part in a cooking masterclass with Mix 106.3’s Kristen Davidson and the Head Chef at Pialligo Estate, and join GRIFFIN Accelerator Alumni Kate Freeman, Founder & Managing Director of The Healthy Eating Hub for an ‘experts in conversation’ session.
“I’m excited to be involved in the Zero Proof Festival. I think any company that’s keen to promote a healthier alternative to alcohol and sugar-sweetened beverages gets my attention and it’s a great way to show consumers that events, parties and other social occasions don’t need to involve alcohol and sugar for people to have a good time. It’s just a mindset shift that people have to make and I’m excited to help Altina encourage people to make it.” Said Kate.
Kate will be spilling the truth behind the ‘the beer belly phenomenon’ and sharing her views on how alcohol and sugar affect weight, and how to build a healthy relationship with both.
Alan hopes that events like this can help change the relationship people have with alcohol and reduce the stigma that alcoholic drinks are the only choice when socialising.
“It’s time to demand more than water and soft drink, it’s time to demand quality alcohol free drinks and have a great time without the hangover,” said Alan.
Altina Drinks are inviting people to be part of the #sobercurious movement, becoming more mindful and intentional about when, how and why we drink.
Alan and Co-founder, Christina Delay have taken Altina Drinks through The Mill House Social Enterprise Accelerator and in 2019 received an Innovation Connect Grant to help get their business market-ready.
