Grant application dates have been extended at Canberra Innovation Network because right now the world needs more ideas, more entrepreneurs and more businesses.

Canberra Innovation Network facilitates a range of funding opportunities in collaboration with the ACT Government, namely the Innovation Connect (ICON) Grant and the Boosting Innovation Grant. The program supports the thriving startup culture in Canberra and empowers entrepreneurs to develop and grow their innovative ideas.

Applications for both of these grant programs have been extended until Friday August 14.

Innovation Connect (ICON) Grant is a $10,000-$30,000 matched-funded grant to support early-stage businesses that want to develop a prototype for a new innovative idea.

In response to COVID-19, the ACT Government has partnered with the Canberra Innovation Network to deliver a second stream of funding through the Boosting Innovation Grant. This $10,000-$30,000 matched-funded grant is to support existing start-ups and innovative businesses find new customers and explore new markets.

The Boosting Innovation Grant is aimed at businesses that have been trading for over 12 months. It’s purpose is to support more progressed companies innovate in exploration of new markets and engagement of new customers. Boosting Innovation also supports some marketing activities that further the innovative project.

As this new grant is targeting more progressed companies, the matched funding structure differs from ICON, requiring recipients to contribute half of the component in cash.

Applications for the Innovation Connect (ICON) Grant and the Boosting Innovation Grant are currently open and will close on Friday August 14.
