Woman in Innovation: Renee Douros
"Women in roles of power or influence should support other women in their own journeys to business success."

Each Wednesday we interview women in our community about innovation and what drives them to make a difference in their industries everyday!

What are you working on?
On a day-to-day basis, I concentrate on the operation of my four businesses; The Floral Society, The Sugar Deli, PLANTED and The Social Club. On a broader scale, I have recently launched The Social Club; a blank space venue for hire and I’m working on some exciting activations and events with local business owners and creatives, that will happen within the space throughout 2018.

Why is innovation important to you?
I strongly believe that innovation is an important part of the long-term success of a business. Business owners who are able to identify and swiftly act upon opportunities for growth will not only successfully compete within a crowded business marketplace, they will also give themselves a better chance of thriving in a fluctuating economy.

Do you have any advice for getting more women into the innovation ecosystem?
Women in roles of power or influence should support other women in their own journeys to business success. Rather than just concentrating on my own career; I take time to advise other women on their own climb to the top. Women in business who are able to lend a hand to other talented women by giving feedback and guidance are helping to build one new female entrepreneur, one coffee at a time.
