Canberra Entrepreneur Tina McIntosh from BOOST Recovery has heard some great news today. Her BOOST Recovery Program received the award for ‘Most Impactful Innovation in Pain Care’ category at the Pinnacles Pain Sector Awards hosted by Pain Australia and Pain Foundation. Nominations for this award come from the client and BOOST Recovery received multiple. ‘I’m really honoured to be recognized in amongst all the other innovators in the sector because pain is a really complex problem and it needs lots of people working on it’ shared McIntosh.

“just holding a cup was red hot agony. I’d have to hold it with two hands and that was still agony”— Tina McIntosh

Chronic pain is incredibly close to home for McIntosh, as she suffered for over 10 years. ‘Just holding a cup was red hot agony. I’d have to hold it with two hands and that was still agony’ she recounted.

McIntosh developed this program to take back her life, and is now devoting her time to helping others who are suffering. When it comes to musculoskeletal pain, the science says that everyone can be pain free – it just takes the right team, the right tools and time. BOOST Recovery has built a system on these three pillars.

People who come into the program are matched up 1:1 with an Allied Health professional who is expert in pain. ‘What gets covered in a coaching session is based on what someone’s priorities are. They’ll set functional goals; things that they need and want to accomplish in their daily lives’ she described.

According to McIntosh, setting goals is simple. The hard part is doing the work, day in and day out to achieve them. People in the program are supported to do a daily recovery program through the Brain Changer app, which includes tools to give a person skills and strategies across pain disciplines.

“We are reaching people on remote islands off far Northern Territory It is purpose built for remote delivery, making it as easy as possible for people living with chronic pain to access.”— Tina McIntosh

McIntosh made sure to make the BOOST Recovery Program as accessible as possible. Employing the coaches nationwide and delivering the program via telehealth. ‘We are reaching people on remote islands off far Northern Territory It is purpose built for remote delivery, making it as easy as possible for people living with chronic pain to access’ prided McIntosh.

Though this nomination was a lovely and well-deserved surprise, it fits with what BOOST Recovery already knows as a data driven organization. They know their clients are overwhelmingly happy with the experience and BOOST Recovery has a current net promoter score of 97%.

The Pinnacles Pain Sector Awards were held in Sydney on May 8th. We are so proud of Canberra Entrepreneur Tina McIntosh, and the whole BOOST Recovery team.
