Each Wednesday we interview women in our community about innovation and what drives them to make a difference in their industries everyday!
What are you working on?
I joined CBRIN mid January to be a part of the Growth team and I work with entrepreneurs and researchers to refine and take their idea to the next level. I help out with the workshop programs as well as the Launchpad program.
After business hours, I am a co-founder of GuideXP. We help artists share the stories behind their artworks and we’re currently working with local artists to further develop our prototype.
Why is innovation important to you?
To me, innovation is about finding new ways of doing things. It means that everyone has the opportunity to try different ways of doing things and it empowers everyone to do their bit in solving big problems.
What drives you to make a difference?
Raised by two immigrant teachers, I am extremely privileged to have grown up in Australia with an appreciation for education. A lot of people don’t have that. I believe that if you win the birth lottery, you have a duty to make the world a better place for those who can’t.
Do you have any advice for getting more women into the innovation ecosystem?
It’s always scary when you’re doing something new for the first time, but a good trick I learnt from someone wiser than me is to think about what I would do if I wasn’t scared. Then I’d just f****** do it. #jfdi
