Applications are open for entrepreneurs to participate in a global research and ag-tech centre based in the NSW Central West*.
The Global Ag-Tech Ecosystem (GATE) is an initiative by The NSW Department of Primary Industries (DPI) open to individuals, companies and researchers wanting to explore the viability of an ag-tech idea. The purpose is to fast-track these ideas to get the technology and services into the hands of agricultural producers and industry.
The DPI is the largest agricultural research and development provider in Australia with over 600 researchers, 25 research stations and 13,000 hectares of trials farms across NSW.
Participants will gain access to 5 key services and programs in a collaborative environment:
- Lean startup and mentoring services
- Incubator services and support (3 month program)
- Accelerator services and support (6 month program)
- Commercialisation and business support
- Investor Showcases and opportunities to pitch to investors
“The GATE offers incubation services for individuals or start-ups with research and development output which has commercial potential. Accelerator services to hasten prototyping, scaling and growth are also offered at the GATE via DPI’s partner, Sparklabs Cultiv8, with connections to global mentors, expertise and venture capital.”
