Are you working within the renewables space in Canberra and are looking for an extra push to launch? If so, the Renewable Energy Innovation Fund could be just the thing you need.

The ACT Government, in partnership with industry have rolled out a comprehensive package of funding to support Canberra-based renewable energy business.

The Renewable Energy Innovation Fund will allocate $2.5 million through the Direct Grants program and Clean Tech Co-funding Scheme.

The Direct Grants program, which is currently open for applications is to help drive the long-term development of the ACT’s renewable energy industry.

The aim of the grant is to provide early-stage funding to startups, companies and businesses with new technology or renewable ventures in Canberra that will contribute to growing and supporting the renewables ecosystem.

“This is the perfect opportunity for the ACT Government to nurture new technologies by providing the kickstart needed for local projects,” said Minister Shane Rattenbury, Minister for Climate Change and Sustainability.

“Investing in new and emerging technologies is key to building our growing renewable sector and addressing climate change while also supporting local businesses.”

The grant is in its second round, with the first-round funding projects in underground hydrogen storage solutions, new electricity market models, and solar panel testing methods. The current round opened in December and will close at midnight on the 29^th of February.
