100^th First Wednesday Connect Celebration Event

 On Wednesday 3 July 2024, the 100th First Wednesday Connect will be held.

Since 2015, the Canberra Innovation Network has hosted First Wednesday Connect which brings together Canberra’s innovation community to support, listen and learn.

Over the past 9 years, First Wednesday Connect has become the pulse of the innovation community in Canberra and the format is now replicated worldwide. Over 1,000 pitches from this community have been heard by almost 20,000 people in locations across Canberra. Many of these pitches are world-leading ideas that are shaping the future and making the world a better place.

Chief Executive Officer of the Canberra Innovation Network, Petr Adamek says:

“There is something fundamentally human in how interactions at First Wednesday Connect happen. The highly interactive atmosphere offers a very welcome alternative to digital social channels that, in my opinion, often maintain distance rather than truly connect people. The conversations at First Wednesday Connect are simply real and offer genuine face-to-face connections in our innovation community”.

The 100^th First Wednesday Connect will be bigger and better than anyone held before. It is a milestone event, and the Canberra Innovation Network wants to recognise this amazing community. The event would not happen without the energy and enthusiasm driven by the people who come along every month. About half of the attendees each month are new, manifesting the vibrancy and growth of the innovation community in Canberra.

A crowd of more than 300 people are expected to attend, so registration is essential.

First Wednesday Connect and all events held by the Canberra Innovation Network are diverse, inclusive, accessible, and safe, and a warm invitation is extended to anyone to celebrate this special occasion.

The media is invited to attend from 4:30pm onwards, with the event starting at 5:00pm.
