The Canberra Innovation Network (CBRIN) joined forces with PwC Australia on Tuesday, 7 March 2023 to host our bi-monthly Female Founders event. This Female Founders celebrated International Women’s Day (IWD) and to honour this in an innovative way, CBRIN created a Collaboration Lab (Collab Lab) for the attendees to engage in. This year’s IWD theme was ‘Cracking the Code: Innovation for a Gender Equal Future’.
The event commenced with two inspiring speakers who shared personal stories relating to the theme:
- Elanor Huntington, Executive Director of Digital, National Facilities and Collections | CSIRO
- Kylie Watson, Partner, Cybersecurity Sociologist and Technologist | PwC
The workshop brought together around 65 individuals, including key people from the ACT Government, researchers, members of the Legislative Assembly, tertiary and research institutions, businesses in various stages of growth and some people considering an entrepreneurial future. The attendees participated in a Collab Lab, designed by CBRIN to create local emphasis and impact, drawing on the IWD’s theme for this year with, ‘Cracking the Code with Transformative Ideas’.
The goal of the Collab Lab was to ideate, collaborate, and create drive and motivation towards a common objective of empowering people to generate positive changes in gender equality within Canberra’s thriving city.
