GRIFFIN Accelerator Alumni

Applications are open into Australia’s top 24 most active startup accelerators, the GRIFFIN Accelerator based at the Canberra Innovation Network. This program is designed to coach entrepreneurs to turn their innovative idea or prototype into a viable business with initial seed investment of $25k. The money comes from successful entrepreneurs who will mentor the teams.

Since 2014, the GRIFFIN Accelerator has chosen 20 teams through a very competitive process. To date, the teams have collectively raised over $4.5 Million from investors at a combined valuation around $25 Million. This investment is funding investment in their product and rapid sales growth.

Craig Davis, CEO GRIFFIN Accelerator says “we’re looking for a diverse range of people with great ideas for innovative new approaches that will make customers excited. Nobody should self-sensor out of applying.”

Canberra startup SignOnSite went through the GRIFFIN Accelerator program in 2015 and is now contributing to the safety of tens of thousands of workers across Australia, New Zealand and the UK to help companies such as Lendlease, Mirvac and Renascent provide a site management platform that aids the safety of all their workers on site by being the go-to safety system in the pocket of every worker.

Mitch Harmer, CEO SignOnSite says “the greatest benefit of an accelerator program, like GRIFFIN, is that it provides you with a forcing function that causes you to focus on the immediate needs at hand to get your business to the next level for your customers.”

The idea for SignOnSite started when CEO Mitch Harmer was working with a friend on the problems he experienced in the construction industry and to find a way to deliver the next generation of safety technology to the individuals who contributed most to the industry, the people on the ground.

The GRIFFIN Accelerator is holding a free GRIFFIN Alumni Fireside event, where you can meet entrepreneurs from past cohorts, including Construction Tech company SignOnSite and MedTech company Brain Changer.

Applications close 25 May, apply through the GRIFFIN Accelerator website
