The Canberra Innovation Network has today announced an exciting partnership with Canberran electricity and gas retailer, ActewAGL.
The partnership is based on a common vision to grow new industry and jobs by connecting innovative businesses, researchers and entrepreneurs; to promote their success and to accelerate innovation to build global competitiveness.

ActewAGL brings to the network a strong commitment to the community and a wealth of experience, connections and resources that will add value to emergence and growth of Canberra region’s new innovative ventures.” says Petr Adamek, CEO of the Canberra Innovation Network.
The partnership comes with full support from the ACT Government who emphasise that ActewAGL has been an active part of the community since its original inception at Kingston Powerhouse in 1915.
“It is important that the established corporate sector in our city recognise and support the opportunities stemming from growth of new innovative companies. It is great to see that ActewAGL joins the network to help boost the rate of innovation emerging from Canberra.” said Chief Minister, Andrew Barr MLA.
Key features of the partnership will be collaboration on events, innovation education, and direct engagement with startups and SMEs, whether in the energy sector or in related industries.

The Canberra Innovation Network’s vision is for Canberra to be globally recognised as a clever, connected and creative city fuelled by excellence in research, innovation and entrepreneurship. The Canberra Innovation Network is supported by the ACT Government, six foundation members and in partnership with industry partners, aims to connect, promote and accelerate the growth of the region’s innovation and entrepreneurial eco-system.
Its six leading tertiary education and research institutions include: the Australian National University, Canberra Institute of Technology, CSIRO, Data61, University of Canberra and UNSW Canberra. The organisation coordinates, supports and delivers a range of programs and events for startups, entrepreneurs, researchers, innovators, creatives, youth and SMEs.
As a new Gold Partner of the Canberra Innovation Network, ActewAGL joins Optus, who provide technology and communications support; King & Wood Mallesons, who provide legal support; and PwC, who provide accounting and management consulting support.
