The Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) has welcomed the announcement that 2,600 fee-free training places will be available to eligible Canberra students in 2023.

This announcement follows the ACT Government signing an Interim National Skills Agreement with the Australian Government to deliver Fee-free TAFE.

CIT is excited to be playing a vital role in delivering this important program. As the ACT’s public provider of vocational education and training, and cornerstone of the Territory’s skills system, CIT is well-placed to ensure Canberrans have the skills and support they need to succeed.

This joint initiative of the Australian and ACT governments will provide tuition-free training places to eligible students seeking to train, retrain or upskill. Fee-free TAFE will allow CIT to reach even more students and support vital industry sectors.

Around 2,600 places will be offered across a range of industries, including hospitality, healthcare, ICT and construction.

This is an exciting opportunity for CIT. We are geared to deliver skills for the future, but also support students, the community and the economy more broadly.

Registrations of interest are now being accepted. Eligible students include job seekers and young people aged 17 to 24 years who have left school.

More information is available on the CIT website.

Fee Free TAFE is a jointly funded initiative of the Commonwealth, state and territory governments.
