Each Wednesday we interview women in our community about innovation and what drives them to make a difference in their industries everyday!
What are you working on?
I founded “The Interview Coach” to help people move forward in their careers by learning how to confidently present themselves at a job interview.
Working as a career transition coach, I realised that nearly every candidate I worked with had some level of discomfort with the interview process. Smart candidates spend time preparing by researching the organisation, anticipating questions and preparing answers. The one thing missing was the opportunity to practise their interview skills, live, with a knowledgeable audience.
I had spent most of my career in sales before retraining as a psychologist. I also have qualifications in workplace training and assessment. My work has included training sales people and working as an interview panel member in the Australian Public Service. This unique combination arms me with the skills to guide people through the important dress rehearsal of a mock interview.
I work with people to help them manage their nerves, identify their key skills, and build their confidence to present their best selves at an interview.
Why is innovation important to you?
I enjoy change and love hearing about new things. We live in exciting times; the world is changing rapidly, and the possibilities are endless!
What drives you to make a difference?
It’s so gratifying to know that I’m helping people with their careers!
Do you have any advice for getting more women into the innovation ecosystem?
Don’t be afraid of big new ideas. Do some research. Talk to people. Have a go!
