Ever wondered about the secret life of PR and media professionals? You need to know about this event

Calling all future media moguls and PR professionals—this one is for you.

Have you ever wondered about the secret life of professionals in your chosen field? Well, now you can have all your questions answered.

On Thursday 19 May, the Canberra Innovation Network will be exploring the world of marketing, PR, and media with an experienced panel of professionals who will offer a unique perspective into their fields for Marvellous Media: The Secret Life of PR and Media.

A part of CBRIN’s Female Founders events—a bi-monthly get-together where attendees hear from a panel or a keynote speaker, and network with like-minded women in business—the event is designed to empower, inspire and encourage innovation to help the female entrepreneurs and startups in the Canberra community thrive.

And with their own unique perspectives (that come from their respective experience as founders, entrepreneurs, journalists, and marketing experts) these panelists can’t be missed—including HerCanberra’s very own Amanda Whitley.

Telling her story of media entrepreneurship, Amanda will share how innovative techniques played a big part in the success of HerCanberra.

“I always say that Canberra probably has more moonlighters per capita than anywhere else,” explains Amanda.

“We’re public servants or we’re working in offices and at night we are making hats or designing jewellery. There are so many Canberrans that have creative pursuits outside that, and sometimes it takes taking that leap for it all to happen.”

Joining Amanda on the stage is Colin Anstie, CEO and Founder of RD Consulting, the company that scoop state winner in the category ‘Accelerating Women’ of the 2022 Telstra Business Awards.

Bringing his energy and enthusiasm to the panel, Colin will be sharing knowledge from the business he knows best: marketing, media, and PR.

Perfect for anyone looking to grow media relationships, learning how to tell stories, or using innovative media techniques, the panel will break down the code of communicating with the media and creating real media contacts through effective and innovative marketing and PR.

Registration is essential and the cost includes lunch. Running from 12:30 pm until 1:30 pm, lunch will also be provided by The Goods Wholefoods, a female-founded Canberran business that specialises in unique salads, wraps, and smoothies.
