On Thursday 19th May 2022 Female Founders delivered another sell out event! If you weren’t able to join us, here’s what you missed.
A warm welcome from our Chief Operations Officer, Sharyn Smith, opened the event as attendees plated up their delicious salads from The Goods Whole Foods. The room was buzzing with energy as our MC for the event, Irene Zhen, introduced Amanda Whitley, Founder of HerCanberra, and Colin Anstie, Founder and CEO of RD Consulting.
Colin and Amanda both shared with us their journey from having an idea that turned into a successful business. We asked about the nitty gritty worst days, which they turned into a new perspective and used to grow their businesses.
- Go all out for marketing, get creative
- Utilise your story
- Find your unique hook, especially when engaging media
- Some jobs, like keeping accounts in order, may not be glamourous but shouldn’t be ignored
- Don’t be afraid to adapt, innovation is key
Thank you to everyone who was able to join us, a special thank you to Colin and Amanda for sharing so openly with us, and to The Goods Wholefood for the delicious food (as always!)
If you missed out on this event, be sure to subscribe to our newsletter and check out other upcoming events. On Tuesday 21 June Dr Lyndal Thorburn, another female founder with an incredible list of achievements, will be joining us for the Billion Dollar Panel series.
