The 2023 Innovation Showcase is Canberra Innovation Network’s biggest event of the year! It offers a unique opportunity to recognise the amazing individuals in the innovation and startup ecosystem, highlighting their successes and inspiring even bigger goals for the new year!
At this year’s Innovation Showcase, Canberra startups will go head-to-head in a high-intensity pitching competition judged by YOU.

Introducing Christopher and Maxwell from My Green Butler.
What impact do you see your innovation having when shaping the future?
To create a better future we think it is important to focus on one’s area of expertise, ours is hospitality (tourist accommodation). Running a hotel is complicated, and achieving sustainable stays is even more complex because it involves many people and lots of services. This is why we have created a software system that reports, guides and drives continuous progress to everyone: managers, staff, guests, and 3rd party suppliers. Our impact will be massive. Not only will we reduce millions of tonnes of carbon, but we will also reach millions of visitors and staff who can likewise make changes to their lives through the insights gained from viewing My Green Butler. Financial savings are recorded and a proposition can be directed to a nature or cultural conservation charity, making tourism a force for good.
What has been the high of the year for you?
Completing our staff support service (after lots of research and testing) which uses gamified task management to motivate employees to drive change throughout hospitality.
If you could disinvent something, what would it be and why?
Aviation. We need to fly to visit sites and customers. It is our biggest contributor to the company’s carbon footprint.
What is one innovation that has shaped your future?
The internet. We are able to collect live data from anywhere in the world, process it, and report back to managers, staff, and guests instantly with eco-feedback, which enables real-time decision-making.
