Tell us about what you are working on.
I am the founder of bakesale which is the online marketplace for baking. We call it the sweet-spot for bakers and buyers because it hits that sweet-spot of connecting people looking for that extra special something made with love, with local bakers selling their amazing, home-baked creations.
Why is innovation important to you?
Innovation is about bringing ideas to life and changing the world. bakesale provides an exciting alternative to mass-baked goods that supports our local bakers, provides more unique options, and ultimately tastes better.
What drives you to make a difference?
I want to bake the world a better place. Through bakesale, I am on a mission to transform the world from mass-making to home-baking. Our online marketplace is revolutionising the world of baking by connecting your skills and products with local buyers who crave all the benefits of home-baked goodness.
Do you have any advice for getting more women into innovation and entrepreneurship?
One of bakesale’s mottos is ‘Sweet success, together’. By creating a supportive space without competition, women feel more comfortable to be themselves – boss ladies! At bakesale, we are committed to seeing your business thrive. When you join, not only do you benefit from the support, infrastructure and security of an established e-commerce platform, you also become part of a vibrant community of other bakers. Through events, education and forums, we help you take your business of baking to the next level.

2022 has been an epic year with the launch of bakesale on 1 October. With the amazing success of over 39K website visitors already and 8K new users, we are now in a position to develop our bespoke platform to increase functionality for our bakers.
