Exciting news! Mark your calendars for Wednesday 5 July 2023, as we celebrate a remarkable milestone, our 90th First Wednesday Connect (FWC). This event has blossomed into a true testament to the vibrancy of our entrepreneurship and innovation community.
A walk through history
It was on 1 July 2015 when Petr Adamek and Craig Davis organised the First ever First Wednesday Connect which has set the groundwork for what it is today. With the intention for a small gathering of entrepreneurs, the two were surprised when over 100 people showed up, first time! The event was held in CBRIN’s event space and the energy was infectious, with entrepreneurs coming together to support each other.
Now, First Wednesday Connect is truly established as a pulse of our innovation ecosystem having showcased over 1,000 pitches and 17,000 attendees! It has also been replicated elsewhere around the world and in Australia.
Even amidst the challenges posed by the COVID-19 lockdown, our resilient community has demonstrated unwavering support for the Canberra innovation ecosystem by coming together for this event. Your presence and involvement have been instrumental in making this event a cherished tradition year after year.
So, we invite you to join us and the Chief Minister Andrew Barr, on Wednesday 5 July 2023, at the ACT Government Building (220 London CCT), to celebrate FWC’s 90th birthday! Come along, foster connections and expand your networks at FWC.
