The Mill House Social Enterprise Accelerator Program (GRIST) has kicked off it’s SERVICE ONE Social Venture Catalyst Campaigns and there are only 24 days remaining! SERVICE ONE is passionate about seeing other for-purpose ventures established in the ACT and surrounding NSW region.

GRIST is a 6-month program for individuals and teams who have an idea for a social venture and seek to use a hybrid business model to achieve social, cultural economic or environmental impact.

As part of the program, the ventures that are suited to crowdfunding can launch a 30-day campaign which is a great way to test the value proposition for their ventures, but ultimately raises the capital needed to bring their business to life.

Accountability Mate Program

The Accountability Mate Program provides the skills, knowledge, and training for men to know the warning signs and leverage male peer relationships to help safely prevent men’s use of domestic violence and connect them to the right support. Working with experts in the field and connecting with frontline services will provide the link between individual action and community interventions to stop preventable harm.

DiversiTEA  (Cooma Multicultural Centre)

The MAGIC DiversiTEA Cafe will provide training, practical work experience and social engagement opportunities to a diverse range of migrants in Cooma and the region. The cafe will provide a platform for cultural conversations, the sharing of traditional tea and snacks and will help migrants and refugees settle in the area.

The Climate Factory

The Climate Factory is partnering with the Downer Community Parkcare group to take action against increasing urban temperatures to build a pilot micro-forest in the Cole St park in Downer. They are trialling a community-funded revegetation model that could be applied across Canberra in areas where it’s needed most.

Getaboutable.com

Getaboutable.com is a is bidding to host the inaugural Asia-Pacific Accessible Tourism Conference & Expo next year in Canberra to connect the tourism sector with the huge under-served accessible tourism market.
