Meet the Team: Joshni

We’re highlighting our business’ strongest asset: our wonderful team!

Here at the Canberra Innovation Network, we’re passionate about innovation and are here to help you make an impact and change the world. Our team is full of clever, connected and creative people and we’re excited to introduce you to our Reception and Event Support superstar, Joshni Alapati.

Explain what you do at CBRIN in 25 words or less.
Help everyone with day to day tasks!

If I had to describe my work in 3 words they would be administration, reception and events. I am everywhere…

Tell us about what you’re working on at the moment.
Learning and absorbing as much as I can from the CBRIN team. I’m always working on the space and thinking about how I can make it prettier, neater and more innovative.

Who or what inspires you?
Women inspire me! Women are contributing to this creative, innovative world, and have never been so important or inspirational.

What’s your favourite book or podcast?
I listen to The Internet Said So, a weekly podcast where four comedians discuss random, fun, weird and shocking “facts” they find on the internet. I also enjoy Ashley Graham’s Pretty Big Deal.

What are you most passionate about?
At the moment, everything and anything that has to do with digital art.

If you could dis-invent one thing, what would it be and why?
I believe there is learning to be gained from every invention.

Drink of choice?
Bubble tea (mango green tea with pearls and milk foam).

What do you work towards in your free time?
In my free time I do digital illustrations, portraits and paintings — check out THEA on Instagram!

What’s the coolest innovation you’ve read or heard about lately?
FLYTE — it’s a levitating light bulb that hovers due to magnets and is powered through the air. It’s designed in Sweden, and the FLYTE base is made of sustainably sourced oak, ash and walnut.

What is something that never fails to make you smile?
Every beautiful creation and creature. With a special mention going out to the beach and the music of the waves.

What are you currently watching on Netflix?
Narcos, and then I switch to Friends, because why not!

Tell us something interesting about yourself that we may not know.
I have classically trained in Carnatic music for 6 years.

If you were a crayon, what colour would you be?
The royal purple!

Thanks, Joshni! You can connect with her on LinkedIn or meet her at our office in Civic.
