Where Are They Now: Anna Pino & Candice Edye

"In ten years or so, we will be basking in a glorious retirement, so its probably something like ‘what’s on the menu”? Until then the question will always be ‘how do we do it better?'"

We interview women in our community about innovation and what drives them to make a difference in their industries. This week we spoke to Anna Pino and Candice Edye from Lighthouse Business Innovation Centre.

What are your big wins/challenges since we last spoke?

Surviving two and a half crazy years relatively unscathed. We had to pivot on a number of occasions to make sure we could deliver projects on time and on budget and with a little additional flair. We did so successfully and continue to build on that success.

What advice would you give to yourself 5 years ago?

The business really needs to work for us and not visa versa. We want a business that allows us to work on things we enjoy and with people we can learn from and who challenge us to be better. Took us 5 years longer than it should have to work that out.

What do you want to ask your future self?

In ten years or so, we will be basking in a glorious retirement, so its probably something like ‘what’s on the menu”? Until then the question will always be ‘how do we do it better’?

What are you proud of right now?

We are in a better position that we were prior to COVID and that’s due to hard work, some quick thinking and being truly agile and flexible in our approach and there are some bigger things coming.
