We interview women in our community about innovation and what drives them to make a difference in their industries. This week we spoke to Renee Douros, founder of The Floral Society, The Sugar Deli, PLANTED, The Social Club and most recently, Adytum.
What are your big wins or challenges since we last spoke?
A big win is opening a new brick and mortar venture right in the middle of the pandemic; in October 2021 I launched Adytum on Lonsdale Street in Braddon, the flagship sanctum of our holistic health and wellness brand.
Challenges, pandemic aside, include opening said new venture and becoming a mother to my third child at the same time.
What advice would you give yourself 5 years ago?
Nothing is ever as bad as it seems. Renee of five years ago would get herself very stressed over often the uncontrollable, yet inevitable issues that arise when owning and running businesses. I’ve since learnt that everything can be fixed and things usually work out in the end. No business is more important than your health and the health of your family.
