Women in Innovation: Teresa Wojcik, Your Season

We interview women in our community about innovation and what drives them to make a difference in their industries. This week we spoke to Teresa Wojcik, Founder of Your Season.

Tell us about what you are working on.

I am creating an online platform that organises clothing into seasonal colour analysis palettes. So far, the brands we have on board are Amazon Australia, Birdsnest and Petal + Pup!

Why is innovation important to you?

I love constantly trying to find better ways to do things. I try to be thorough but efficient, and to carve out the time and headspace to enjoy the important things in life.

What drives you to make a difference?

I always want to leave things in a better condition than I found them. If you know better, do better.

Do you have any advice for getting more women into innovation and entrepreneurship?

If you have an idea that you think needs to be shared, find a network and get feedback! Tempering and sound boarding your idea is invaluable early on. If the idea is good, the right people will come. There are heaps of great networking opportunities in Canberra (and in most cities in Australia). I have only had positive experiences with the innovation community. Most people are genuinely interested in hearing new ideas, and are often generous with their time, knowledge and connections. Give it a go!

I ran my idea quite casually past my partner one night when we were brushing our teeth, and he said, ‘Hey, that’s actually really good. You should work on it!’ He recommended CBRIN’s Ideas to Impact workshop, and I have been swimming upstream ever since!

What are you proud of right now?

The official website is going live on the 20th of November 2023! Check it out at https://www.yourseason.co.
