March has provided us with many opportunities to celebrate, empower and promote the amazing female innovators and entrepreneurs of Canberra.
International Women’s Day 2022, Women’s History Month, and Women in Innovation have all been highlighted throughout the month. The Canberra Innovation Network (CBRIN) invites you to finish on a high, continue to be inspired by female trailblazers of innovation, and spend the day in their coworking space for free this Monday!
During March, CBRIN has been celebrating women in innovation with a variety of events, including a sold-out Female Founders: International Women’s Day panel and workshop. The CBRIN team have taken the month to amplify and listen to female voices, to ensure they offer a safe and inclusive space for female and LGBTQI+ innovators.
The importance of female and diverse voices in innovation is immeasurable. According to Elegant Media in Australia in 2022, the percentage of female business founders sits below 25%. The gap only widens when it comes to the number of female ideas that receive funding. This is a problem CBRIN continues to address by reaching out to female founders & entrepreneurs.
CBRIN COO, Sharyn Smith, believes that fostering the ideas of women and the LGBTQI + community is an integral part of bridging the gender equality gap and uplifting our community by hearing everyone’s voice.
The last event of this month dedicated to women in innovation and entrepreneurship will be a day of free coworking in the CBRIN coworking space and morning tea on Monday 28 March 2022. This is an inclusive opportunity for female and queer-led businesses, entrepreneurs, female team members, and those working for female-powered businesses to utilise the CBRIN facilities and connect with the CBRIN coworking community at the morning tea.
The event is free however registration is required. Those who choose to attend will have access to all the Canberra Innovation Networks facilities including coffee machines, desks, meeting rooms, comfortable break-out spaces, and free Wi-Fi.
The Female Founders Coworking Day is a great opportunity for Canberra businesswomen and team members to find helpful connections, work alongside other female entrepreneurs, and experience the magic of the Canberra Innovation Network.
